Somehow I feel like King is talking directly to me with this quote.
I'm going to be honest here and place myself in the "merely competent" category of writer. I can string three words together into a sentence. I can usually get my point across. Sometimes it takes a couple of paragraphs to get there, but the point is it gets across.
I don't really want to be a great writer. Heck, I don't think I have the ability to be "great" (for many, many reasons I don't really have time for right now), but good? I can do good.
